CIMPA is happy to start the year with 36 CIMPA Courses: 25 in Africa and 11 in Asia!

From now on, the projects of CIMPA Course can be submitted throughout the year.

AFRICA

ZbMath Open Access

Great news! The online index and reviewing service, ZbMath, is to become open access from the start of 2021. This will be of great benefit to mathematicians in developing countries.

If, in the meantime, mathematicians from developing countries would like to access ZbMath, then this is possible. Details of how to make this happen are given on the EMS-CDC webpage here.

The Scientific Council met in Paris to study the projects of CIMPA Schools for 2021

The Scientific Council of CIMPA met on October 24-25, 2019 at the Institut Henri Poincaré to work on project proposals of CIMPA Schools for 2021. The meeting took place in the presence of Christophe Ritzenthaler, next Executive Director of CIMPA.

CIMPA is very grateful to all the members of this council for their time and energy.

The selection of schools will be finalized during the next CIMPA Steering Committee meeting in Valladolid (Spain) on January 23-24, 2020.

 

Appointment of the next Executive Director of CIMPA

CIMPA is pleased to announce the appointment of Christophe Ritzenthaler as Executive Director of CIMPA. He will take up his new duties on September 1, 2020. His term of office is 4 years.

Christophe Ritzenthaler defended his PhD, which was prepared under the supervision of Jean-François Mestre, at Paris VII university in 2003. After two years abroad as post-doc, he started as assistant professor at Aix-Marseille university. In 2013, he took up a professor position at Rennes 1 university.

Giulia Di Nunno receives the Su Buchin prize from the King of Spain at ICIAM 2019. Congratulations Prof. Di Nunno!

The CIMPA congratulates Professor Giulia Di Nunno, who was awarded the  the Su Buchin prize!

Giulia Di Nunno, Professor of stochastic analysis at the University of Oslo and member of the Executive Team of CIMPA, was awarded the ICIAM Su Buchin Prize for 2019 for her work in promoting mathematical research in African countries

The prize was created and first awarded in 2007.
