The proposed school lies within the framework of the Europe-Latin America Network in Applied Mathematics (REALMA) whose objective is the development of a structured program of cooperation including

  • mobility of researchers, teachers and students,
  • common programs of education and research,
  • e-learning, on line documentation,
  • organisation of conferences and thematic schools.

The school will enable the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Habana to naturally fit into REALMA.

Mathematical modelling in biology and analysis of the resulting equations
are a main challanging scientific problem. This domain interests an increasing
mathematical community in the world as well as biologists, doctors, engineers
in environmental science for their possible applications. The various recent PDE
methods and the last most significant progress in this domain need to be exchanged
and developed with Cuba and other countries of the Caribbean area.

L’école de recherche « Spatial Statistics : Extreme Value and Epidemiology » est destinée à présenter les aspects théoriques de la statistique spatiale et de ses applications aux valeurs extrêmes et à l’épidémiologie.

Cette école est destinée à des étudiants en dernière année de master, des doctorants, des enseignants chercheurs et des praticiens non spécialistes, ayant un bon bagage en statistique et qui souhaitent orienter leurs recherches vers la statistique spatiale et plus spécialement les extrêmes spatiaux et l’épidémiologie spatiale.

This CIMPA School will introduce participants to selected topics of Mathematics with direct applications in privacy and security issues. The presentations will include the necessary background in order to understand the main concepts, as well as many motivating examples of the application of these topics to particular security and privacy issues, together with open problems in the corresponding areas. The aim is to motivate a group of bright students to continue working in those areas at the doctoral or postdoctoral level.

La modélisation mathématique en biologie et en médecine connaît actuellement un développement majeur, avec comme objectif de relever les défis de santé et environnementaux qui se posent aujourd’hui. Elle permet à la fois de mieux comprendre, d’expliquer, voire de prédire le comportement de systèmes biologiques complexes.

The objective of the school is to introduce the participants to mathematical tools, in particular arithmetic, algebraic and geometric ones used in certain recent developments in algebraic Coding Theory , Cryptography and related areas. These directions are in full development and represent an extremely rich research area open to the applications.

The school aims at presenting some of the current approaches in PDE modelling and mathematical analysis of biological phenomena or related domains. It aims at allowing the researchers and the students of Master’s degree level and talented undergraduate students to acquire a basic training in that field and to have an overview of what is the current research status of these types of problems.

CIMPA-2020 is addressed for researchers and students (postgraduate/undergraduate) to acquire a training in the field of mathematics applied to medicine. A wide class of mathematical models and applications in issues related to tumor growth, population dynamics, pattern formation and their implications in developmental cancer biology will be developed.
