The first doctors formed in mathematics in Africa were formed in pure mathematics or in domains where they couldn’t find any local applications. This situation makes the retraining and the creation of discipline directly applied difficult enough. The African persons responsible are all okay to orient the mathematicians toward the health statistic and epidemiology:
- To give students, teachers, researchers and all users of statistics, a very concrete high-level training, classic as for the used mathematical techniques, as modern as possible due to the data processing and the specialized software used.
- To sum up the recent developments in statistical, to specify the particular problematic of the medical statistical and finally to debate about emergencies in statistics for the developing countries, and more specifically the French-speaking African countries.
- An important part of the school will charged to explain the used of data processing tools, in particular, the used of the software R.
