The school focuses on the progression from classical statistical inference to modern learning methods, emphasizing their interplay and applications. It aims to provide participants with a solid understanding of probability and statistics, their extension through stochastic modeling, and their role in contemporary statistical learning. The first part revisits key concepts of inference, including estimation, hypothesis testing, and regression, highlighting their limitations.

Algebraic number theory is a very active field of mathematics. We plan to introduce the subject and its application to cryptography. After given courses in elementary arithmetic, algebraic numbers and p-adic numbers, we will focus on the basics of elliptic curves and finite fields. Applications will also figure prominently in the program as it is shown by the presence of the following courses: Introduction to cryptography, Elliptic curves and cryptography.

L’Ecole de Recherche du CIMPA « Statistique, environnement et changement climatique » est destinée à exposer les méthodes statistiques modernes pour traiter des problèmes et des données dans les domaines de l’environnement et du climat. Ces données pourront être météorologiques, physiques, hydrologiques, épidémiologiques, biométriques, agronomiques, liées à la pollution en milieu urbain et en milieu rural,... Au niveau théorique, quatre thématiques reprendront les différentes approches le plus souvent utilisées pour aborder ce type de données :

Control theory uses a very wide range of mathematical tools : algebra, analysis, geometry. As a consequence it is a topic of interest for many mathematicians from various areas. The aim of the school is to introduce mathematicians to some recent and very active subjects.

The school aims to introduce graduate students and young researchers to the modern theory of dynamical systems and its applications, with a focus on geometric, topological, and numerical methods. The courses will be focused on some key topics in low and high dimensional dynamics, including Hamiltonian systems, Celestial Mechanics, statistical properties of dynamical sysyems and their relation with the underlying geometric structures. The participants will be provided with an introduction to the basic material with the necessary background, before proceeding with the more advanced topics.

The objective of the school is to provide graduate students and young researchers with introductory courses and specialized lectures on partial differential equations (PDE), calculus of variations, and their applications. The courses will concern the contemporary methods as well as recent advances and tools in PDE theory and calculus of variations with various applications in transport theory, shape optimization, kinetic theory, geometric analysis, control theory and engineering. The total duration of the school scientific activities is fifty seven (57) hours.

L’Ecole CIMPA “Algèbre, Arithmétique et Application” vise à o?rir des sessions intensives à de jeunes chercheurs sur des domaines centraux des recherches actuelles en mathématiques fondamentales et appliquées. Nous avons sélectionné 4 cours : Introduction aux groupes algébriques ; Théorie analytique des nombres et approximation diophantienne ; Géométrie des courbes elliptiques ; Méthodes géométriques en théorie de l’information. Ces cours seront donnés par des chercheurs reconnus de leur domaine.
