The aim of the school is to familiarize the participants with the concepts of singularities of algebraic and analytic spaces and holomorphic and real analytic maps and foliations. The approach will be geometric, algebraic, topological as well as analytic. The lectures will be introductory, focusing on the general aspects of singularity theory as well as on low dimensional cases. The goal of each lecture is to bring the participants up to the level necessary to start active research in the subject.

There will also be some short research lectures making the connection between singularity theory and other branches of mathematics. The school is principally intended for postgraduate students (Master and Ph.D), post-docs and young researchers working on singularity theory or willing to get into it from a related subject. Applications from some undergraduate students finishing their degree could be considered.

A financial support is available mainly for young mathematicians from southern mediterranean countries, Turkey and Sahel countries. We will do our best to obtain funds for complementary financing for mathematicians from the north mediterranean, as well as from other african countries.
