This summer school will focus on certain recent progress of mathematical modeling and numerical computations related to the waves propagation, for engineering and bio-mathematical applications. Theses topics are of very actual interest and concern particularly the Venezuelan natural environment.
The lectures will focus on the one hand on the mathematical modeling (Data assimilation, Introduction to wave propagations, Basic of control theory) and, on the other hand, on scientific computing theory and practice on free softwares. The main pedagogical goal of the Summer school is to organize some mini-projects around the school’s topics consisting in building basic solvers for specifc problems. We will take benefit of the USB equipment in computer rooms. Considering that the session of mini-projects will be addressed to students, it is also planned to organize at the end of the meeting a "seminar for young people" in which venezuelan student will present their research/ mini projects. Direct problems, Inverse problems, and the elaboration of Algorithms associated with each type of these problems will be considered.
Finally, a serie of high level talks involving international renowned venezuelan and non venezuelan researchers will follow the lecture and mini-project session.
